Like most parents this time of year, Im sure you are trying to find out what to do with your child for spring break? You want them to have fun and enjoy themselves while you are at work; but at the same time not pay a fortune for their spring break fun! Here are 4 steps in finding a reasonable camp that will not skimp out on the fun!
1. Think local: sometimes the best places to check are right around the corner. Your community center, parks, and recreation usually have tons of fun for your child.
2. Change your expectations: If you cannot find a day camp that offers extended hours, take a couple of hours of vacation time each day to pick up your child. Also look into family camps if you want to make it a family affair. Almost 25% of U.S. camps offer a family session.
3. Put your child to work: there are several opportunities for your child to be hired as a counselor-in - training. This way they are still involved in some type of engaging activity.
4. Contact your schools: schools are always informed of opportunities within the community. A good starting point is your local PTSA.
